Age: All members must be at least 16 years of age. This site may have questionable content and you agree to this by signing up for the site. To rise to a Senior Member, you must be at least 18 years of age.

Required Information: Some information is required to join Terre d'Ange. Your first name, valid email, and age (year of birth) must be supplied. The administration will NOT divulge this information without consent.

Name: Even though we are not a site dedicated to roleplay, we encourage each person to have one online identity for use in our community (made up of a first and last name that sound as though they would belong in the world created by Jacqueline Carey). These identities should be the same gender as the creator. Members may not give themselves a title which they have not earned (i.e. Lady, Peer of the Realm, Priest/Priestess). Names should not be found in the Kushiel Legacy series, though House names may be used by ranking members and are considered on a case by case basis.

Avatars: Each member should choose one face or avatar to represent themselves while in Terre D’Ange. Avatars must be exactly 110 x 170 pixels in size. No nudity. The avatars must be humanoid and not currently in use by another member of the community. It is each member's responsibility to ensure that the images are not copyrighted. Administration has the right to ask members to change their avatar due to copyright issues.

Signatures: Signature blocks can be either ten lines of text, or a banner measuring no larger than 350 x 150 pixels with two lines of text around it. Please do not use animations in graphic signatures, though you may use small graphics to either side.

This community was created as a place for people of similar interests to meet and form friendships. We ask that everyone keep in mind that members of this community come from all walks of life, all countries of the world, and all will have different opinions and world views. Respect for the point of view of all other members of this community is a founding principle and will be enforced.

All members are expected to follow the Code of Conduct. If behavior is found to be offensive, Terre D’Ange has in place a three strike policy.

• First Offense - Another member of any rank may ask the offender to stop or alter their behavior to fit the Code of Conduct; if the offense continues they may be told to report to the administrator of their group. For Wanderers, the administrator is the Heir of the Throne. For Initiates, the administrator is the Priest(ess) of Naamah. For Postulants, the administrator is the Priest of Cassiel. For Adepts, the administrator is the Dowayne of their House. For Citizens, the administrator is the Prince(ss) of the Blood. For the Cassiline Brothers, the administrator is the Prefect.
  
• Second Offense - The offender may be asked by a moderator or administrator to perform some sort of penance in order to bring about an attitude change.
  
• Third Offense – The Throne (the Heir or the Queen) will become involved and an ultimatum may be issued.

If three months pass with no further infractions, the existing offenses will be expunged. If a member causes problems on a consistent basis, they may be taken before the Court where their membership to Terre D’Ange will be reviewed. The administration has the right to terminate any membership immediately and without warning if the circumstances call for it.

Please remember we are all here to have fun. Everyone here is a real person behind the text, please remember that.

Because of the nature of the series, there will be times when adult topics are broached. All adult topics should be kept in the private forums of the SM's and the topic must be labelled as "ADULT" so that those that may be offended are warned.

Members at Terre d'Ange can move through different rankings of the Kushiel Legacy series.

We have 3 different paths that members may choose from. The first is the path of those that are initiated at the Temple of Naamah to become Adepts and is open to both genders. The second are those men who are initiated at the Temple of Cassiel to become Cassiline Brothers. The third is the path of the Citizen, which is open to all that do not wish to follow either of the other paths and is also open to both genders.

Raising Requirements:

To be a junior member (Wanderer):
* Must be at least 16 years of age and register on the boards

Requirements to become Dedicated to one of the Temples as an intermediate member (Initiate on Adept path, or Postulant for Cassiline path):
* Must be at least 16 years of age
* Must be a member for at least one month and active (no burst of activity at the 1 month mark - we will be watching)
* Must have submitted information to the Queen to be added in Terre d'Ange's site Member Directory.
* To become an intermediate member, please apply to either the Priest(ess) of Naamah or the Priest of Cassiel with the following information:

Raising requirements to become a senior member through the intermediate paths (Adept or Cassiline Brother):
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must have read at least one Kushiel book in it's entirety
* Must have attended or taught at least one class
* Must have submitted a contribution (a second class may be substituted)
* Must have been at the intermediate level for at least one month
* Must have visited with your intended House for at least 2 weeks and asked admittance (for Adepts only)
* When you have passed these requirements, please apply to the Dowayne of the House you wish to join (information will be posted in their respective areas)

Requirements to gain Citizenship as a Senior Member:
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must have read at least one Kushiel book in it's entirety
* Must have submitted a contribution OR attended/taught one class

Union – A loose bond between friends of any rank and gender. This relationship is simply an agreement between two members and does not require any approval from the administration. It can be dissolved at any time but is not recognized by the Throne.

Cassiline Brother – A warding relationship between a Cassiline Brother and any Adept or Citizen. If a Senior Member wishes to engage the protection of a Cassiline Brother, an application may be made to the Prefect outlining the reason for the request and any other pertinent information. Members petitioning for this relationship must have known each other for at least three months.

Adoption – This is an unbreakable* relationship where one person takes the last name of the other; available only to Adepts and Citizens. The applicants must have known each other for at least five months, and will need to have spoken either on the phone or in person. Applications will need to be sent to Heir@TerreDAnge.net.

Perfect Companion – This is an unbreakable* relationship where two people are joined in spirit and can exist between any two senior members. Applicants must have known each other at least five months and spoken on the phone or in person. Applications will be sent to Heir@TerreDAnge.net .

* Only in cases where someone has been abandoned (by the other leaving or having been removed from the community), or other extenuating circumstances can these be broken. If the members seek to terminate their relationship, the Throne will consider each sitauation on a case-by-case basis.

Light role playing is allowed in all the forums. Roleplaying is not mandatory to be a member at Terre d'Ange. There may be opportunities to add a full roleplaying section in the future if interest is shown.

We have several administration positions, each heading specific membership and is outlined below. A flow chart is located here.

Queen:
* Responsible for the overall running of the site. From the domain, forums, website, etc. as well as any associated costs
* Responsible for all other administration positions (if you as a member have an issue, please come to me!)
* Responsible for raisings/bondings/etc.
* Responsible for forum administration

Heir to the Throne:
* Second to the Queen
* Handles the reports from the other administration to funnel to Queen
* Has Administration rights to the boards
* Helps moderate forums
* Approves Adoption and Perfect Companion relationships
* Is a Member of the Court

Dowayne (Adept Track) / Prefect (Cassiline Track) / Prince(ss) of the Blood (Citizen Track)
* Head of the House/Group
* Moderates their groups forums
* Adds/removes users from their usergroups as needed
* Submits monthly reports to the Heir
* Deals with any internal issues for their group
* Submits applications for raisings to the Counsel
* Is a Member of the Court

Priest(ess) of Naamah (Adept Track) / Priest of Cassiel (Cassiel Track)
* In charge of the Midlevels in their track.
* Receives applications from JM's to move to midlevel and submits them to the Council
* Assigns Mentors to Midlevels
* Moderates midlevel forums
* Prefect only: Approves Cassiline/SM relationships
* Submits a monthly report to the Heir
* Is a Member of the Court

Here at Terre d'Ange, many of our administrators are members of the Court.

The Court is made up of:
* Priest/Priestess of Naamah
* Priest of Cassiel
* Dowaynes
* Prefect
* Prince/Princess of the Blood
* Heir to the Throne.

The Queen is not actively part of the Court but if there is a tie vote, the queen holds the Tie-breaking vote. The Queen also holds Veto Power in extenuating circumstances.

What the Court Does:
* Votes on all "dedications", applications for citizenship, etc.
* Deals with user infractions above the pranking level.

When an administration position comes open, an announcement will be made in the Announcement Forum with the job duties and qualifications. Job openings will be posted for a minimum of one week before applications will close.

In the unfortunate event that an administrator must step down, the Throne requests a minimum two weeks notice so that applications may be taken and training can take place.
